About Us

El Pinoy Care Services is a registered provider of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and aged care services. Maria De La Cruz founded the company out of a sincere desire to provide her disabled, elderly father with the love, care, attention, security, and dignity he deserved during his final years.

Although El Pinoy is a relatively new business, having been formally established in 2020, it benefits from more than 15 years of experience. Maria has always been involved in caring for her elderly parents, particularly her disabled father, who lived with her and her family for five years after her mother passed away. She was also actively involved in the home care of her youngest brother when the hospital gave up on him and recommended moving to a palliative facility. Maria and her sisters Nini and Ellie became his caregivers in their eldest sister's home.

These experiences taught Maria that, no matter their circumstances, elderly and disabled people can experience sadness and fear of isolation. She did not want to see her father sad or afraid because he no longer had her mother to share his life with. She loved her father and wanted him to be happy, feel important, loved, and truly cared for, but she also knew that she could not do everything on her own. That is why she learned about the NDIS, home care packages from My Aged Care, and other assistance available to the elderly from other sectors of the Australian government and managed them all for her father, which made both of them happy.

When her father passed away in February 2020, Maria was at a loss because she had given up her full-time job several years earlier to spend more time with him. She found herself with a lot of spare time and a backyard full of plants from her gardening hobby. So she took stock of things and asked herself what she was really good at, what she enjoyed doing, and where she could make the most contribution. The answer was clear: she was very good at caring for her father, and that gave birth to El Pinoy Care Services.

El Pinoy's mission is to nurture the human spirit by creating a better everyday life for the people they serve, while their vision is to be a trusted partner and friend to those people and help them thrive in the community with dignity, respect, and awareness of the beauty of life.

Maria shares her practical experience with her team, viewing everything through the eyes of her father. She takes pride in having a well-trained, experienced, and knowledgeable team that can care for disabled and elderly people who seek their services.

From the Founder

El Pinoy Care Services is a family-owned entity to provide care services to the disabled and aged members of our society.

- Maria De La Cruz, CEO & Founder

The disability care side of our business under NDIS is experiencing growth, but we realize that focusing solely on this aspect of our business would be shortsighted. My husband Mariano and I have acquired valuable skills and experience over the years, particularly in the sensitivity required to care for disabled individuals, thanks to our time taking care of my dearly departed disabled aged father. For us, providing quality care is not just a job but a passion and a calling.

While we are fortunate to have a registered NDIS Provider status that gives us credibility in the field, we understand that this status alone is not enough to grow our business and help more people. We believe that our commitment to providing high-quality services is the key to ensuring the continuity of our business and maintaining our registered NDIS Provider status. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the disabled individuals we serve, helping them live safely and happily in their homes and communities with dignity and respect.

El Pinoy Care Services provides home care services to aged consumers. Currently, we have a small number of aged care consumers, all of whom are self-managed. This is primarily due to their preference for a plan-managed arrangement, which they view as a one-stop/all-in-one solution that is free from the administrative burden that a self-managed arrangement entails.

As I often say, taking care of the disabled and aged is not just a job that anyone can do in exchange for good money, but in my view, it is a calling or vocation that comes from one's heart. After all, the road is not easy, but if your heart is in the right place, just the thought that you are making a positive difference to someone's life is heartwarming.

On this note, we strive to make a difference in improving the lives of the disabled and aged individuals we serve, so that they can continue to live happily, safely, in the manner they wish to do so in their homes and in our communities, with dignity and respect.

“We strive to bring happiness and dignity to those we serve.”
